HOA and Commercial Rebates

Coachella Valley Water District’s (CVWD) rebate programs are designed to assist Homeowners Associations (HOA) and Commercial customers on domestic water who want to reduce their water usage. CVWD customers can APPLY ONLINE for all available rebates by visiting our online Droplet Rebate Programs Portal.

Outdoor Rebates


Ironwood HOAHOA and Commercial Turf Conversion Program -

$2 per square foot (requires pre-approval)

Eligible HOA and Commercial customers can apply for a $2 per square foot rebate for projects ranging from 500 to 25,000 square feet. Multiple projects are allowed.

  • Completed applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • The program requires pre-approval. If you begin or complete your project before applying and receiving pre-approval, your project is not eligible for a rebate.

  • Grass must be replaced with a combination of desert-friendly plants and permeable landscape surfaces with a minimum 25% plant canopy distributed throughout the converted area. Existing plants, trees, or shrubs are not considered part of canopy coverage.

Please review our Terms and Conditions before you apply. Projects are evaluated on a first-come, first-served basis. If you begin or complete your project before applying and receiving pre-approval, your project is not eligible for a rebate.

Please have the following items ready to upload:

  • 12-digit CVWD account number
  • Landscape plans must include a plant list, installation location, and quantities. They must also include a delineated area for upgrade locations and valve locations. 
  • W-9 form: Must match the Account Holder information on the CVWD account. The federal tax code considers landscape rebates as taxable income.

HOA and Commercial Smart Irrigation Controller Rebate ProgramIrrigation Clock Install
(requires pre-approval)

CVWD offers rebates to HOA and commercial customers for installing smart, weather-based irrigation clocks that automatically adjust your irrigation system’s run time based on weather data. CVWD will contribute 75% of the cost of the controller up to $10,000 per project. Use of a smart controller reduces the amount of water in the cooler months and increases the amount in the summer. This program requires pre-approval. If you begin or complete your project before applying and receiving pre-approval, your project is not eligible for a rebate.

HOA and Commercial Rotary Nozzle Rebate Program
 (requires pre-approval)Ironwood HOA

CVWD offers HOA and commercial customers a rebate to convert from less efficient, traditional fixed or adjustable arc spray nozzles to high-efficiency rotary nozzles. Water is applied more slowly and uniformly to lawn and turf areas preventing misting, overwatering which can cause runoff, and allows more water to soak into the soil. The rebates are $4 per installed nozzle up to 2,500 nozzles per Project. This program requires pre-approval. If you begin or complete your project before applying and receiving pre-approval, your project is not eligible for a rebate.

HOA and Commercial Irrigation Upgrade Program
(requires pre-approval)Red emitter

CVWD offers rebates to HOA and commercial customers who replace overhead spray systems, as well as adjustable bubblers and emitters in planter areas—including those irrigating flowers, plants, shrubs, and trees—with subsurface in-line drip tubing or non-adjustable, pressure-compensating bubblers and emitters.The rebate pays an incentive of $0.50 per square foot of converted irrigated area. Project sizes can range from 1,000–20,000 square feet ($500 - $10,000 rebate). Multiple projects are allowed. This program requires pre-approval. If you begin or complete your project before applying and receiving pre-approval, your project is not eligible for a rebate.

Coachella Valley Water District (CVWD) offers free Water Brooms to commercial customers who qualify. Water brooms use approximately 2 gallons per minute (GPM) compared to a traditional hose and nozzle which consumes approximately 8-12 GPM.

Indoor Rebates


Commercial ToiletsCommercial Water Efficient Toilet Rebate Program
(requires pre-approval)

Coachella Valley Water District (CVWD) is offering a rebate program to eligible commercial, institutional, multi-family residential, and hotel/motel customers within CVWD’s service area. Customers who replace toilets using 1.6 gallons per flush (GPF) or greater with water efficient toilets of 1.28 GPF or less, or replace urinals that use 1.0 GPF or greater with waterless urinals, may qualify for a maximum $140 rebate, or half the cost of the replacement, whichever is less.
