Project Timeline

  • •Project timeline: April 2023 through January 2025

Work Hours

  • 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday to Friday

Impact to customers

  • Heavy equipment traffic, lane closures and detours.
  • Sidewalks and driveways will be temperately closed and reopened at the end of each day.
  • No street parking zones
  • Construction notices will be hand-delivered to affected customers/residents on each side of the street and interior streets before starting the construction.

Project benefits

  • Expansion of the NPW Pipeline system maximizes the use of recycled water instead of pumping groundwater for irrigation. This safeguards the Coachella Valley groundwater basin for future generations.
  • Addresses long-term water management goals to maintain water reliability by increasing the supply of recycled water, source substitution, and water-efficiency across all customer sectors.

Project Overview

  • The fiscal year 2020-2021 NPW Pipeline Connection Projects include designing and constructing new NPW pipeline connections to deliver approximately 5,200 acre-feet of NPW annually for landscape irrigation.
  • NPW will be delivered from both the high and low-pressure zones within the Wastewater Reclamation Plant No. 10 (WRP 10) service area to the customer’s existing on-site storage facilities.
