Customer Paying Bill at the Customer Service Desk

Start service

Every residential and commercial property requires an application for service.

Account establishment fee

Coachella Valley Water District assesses a $46 account establishment fee on the first bill to all new accounts.

Residential accounts

Property owners: All accounts, whether the property is to be rented or leased, must have owner authorization to setup an account.

Tenants: Property owners may authorize tenants to be billed directly, however the owner is responsible for all unpaid charges.  If the property you rent has a new owner, please advise them to submit an owner’s application so that our records are accurate and water service remains on.

Realtors, Brokers, HOA, or Property Managers: Complete the request to start service as a property owner and provide a listing agreement designating that you are the authorized agent for the property owner and are responsible for the water at the property.  A $100 deposit is required to establish service.  Under some circumstances, a hold harmless agreement may be required for third parties.

Commercial accounts

Businesses, office buildings:
A $250 deposit is required to establish service.  The deposit will be held for one year after service is started, and the district shall apply the deposit to the water billing until the deposit is used in full.

Stop service

When service is discontinued, the water will be turned off.  When a tenant stops service, the account is placed in the property owner’s name.
