In order to help mitigate the drought conditions on the Colorado River, Coachella Valley Water District (CVWD) is soliciting interest for a water conservation program for canal water users. The data on this survey will be used to identify areas of opportunity for a voluntary, temporary, and compensated program that can demonstrate a reduction in Colorado River water use for 2022 and 2023; participants will be incentivized $200/af based on savings against their historical water use over the most recent 5-year period. An example is through removing agricultural land from production, and substitution of groundwater will not be allowed. CVWD will administer the program, with the funding provided by external sources. Thank you in advance for your participation.
An informational workshop will be held on May 17, 2022 at CVWD’s Coachella office.
Please return the survey by Thursday, June 2, 2022
