Coachella Valley Water District (CVWD) and Congressman Raul Ruiz to highlight federal funding for clean water initiative in East Valley.
Tomorrow, Friday, March 25, 2022, at 12 p.m. noon – a press conference will cover information on the $2.7 million in federal funding secured by Dr. Ruiz to improve access to clean drinking water in the Eastern Coachella Valley. The funding will aid the construction of a new water transmission line to underserved communities that currently rely on unreliable private water systems.

BACKGROUND
CVWD actively works in collaboration with community members and stakeholders through the Disadvantaged Communities Infrastructure Task Force. It was created to secure access to safe affordable drinking water, wastewater and flood control services in historically disadvantaged Coachella Valley regions through strategic planning, funding procurement, needs assessment and reporting.
