The Coachella Valley Water District (CVWD) Board of Directors will conduct its next regular public meeting on Tuesday, September 8, in Palm Desert. A closed session will begin at 5 p.m. with the open session beginning at 6 p.m.
The evening meeting is part of on-going efforts to increase CVWD's transparency and accessibility to the general public. The meeting will be held at CVWD's Steve Robbins Administration Building, 75515 Hovley Lane East.
Among the issues at the meeting, President John Powell Jr. will present an update on the state of the water district and the board will consider authorizing additional funding for CVWD's popular conservation programs. In addition to providing the public with opportunities to speak to items on its agenda, time is set aside to allow comments about any district or water-related topics. An agenda for the meeting is available at www.cvwd.org.
The five-person, elected board normally meets at 9 a.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month, alternating between CVWD facilities in Coachella and Palm Desert.
