On Thursday, there will be lane closures at Fred Waring Drive and California Drive in Palm Desert so that Coachella Valley Water District (CVWD) can perform work designed to eliminate leaks from an aging domestic water pipeline.
The work, which will divert the water from the aging pipeline to a newer one, will require these lane closures at the intersection:
Work at this location is expected to take place from 7 a.m. until about 3 p.m. Motorists are encouraged to use caution when driving past the construction zone and to avoid the area if possible.
The Coachella Valley Water District is a public agency governed by a five-member board of directors. The district provides domestic and irrigation water, agricultural drainage, wastewater treatment and reclamation services, regional storm water protection, groundwater management and water conservation. It serves approximately 108,000 residential and business customers across 1,000 square miles, located primarily in Riverside County, but also in portions of Imperial and San Diego counties.
