Coachella Valley Water District (CVWD) is reminding customers to be wary of possible scams.
Recently a customer reported that he signed up to be a “secret shopper” and then received a check in the mail that appeared to be from CVWD. The customer called CVWD and learned it was fraudulent.
If a customer has concerns about whether a letter or phone call is from CVWD or whether work is authorized by CVWD, they can call the district at 760-391-9600. In addition, all CVWD personnel carry identification.
